Helping Others

Good Friday was a scary day for many in the southeast. Tornadoes ripped through the south leaving much devastation. I have always been so afraid of tornadoes. The older I get the more afraid I am.

Murfreesboro, Tn was hit very hard. Many homes and businesses destroyed. Many injuries and 2 deaths, a mother and 9 week old daughter. The surviving husband and father is in the hospital with a broken back.

A very sweet father/ son team who work with us are very blessed to be here today. There neighborhood was almost completely wiped out. Of the seven houses they have closest to them, five are being completely bull dozed down. The mother and child lost were a street behind them.

Thankfully they had no injuries. There house had some damage, but repairable. They lost almost all the trees in their yard and the son's truck was totalled.

The father told me today of the amazing generosity of volunteers who were there to help. Well known restaurants brought food to feed the residents and volunteers during their long days of cleanup.

Though it is hard to face destruction in our lives, it is always wonderful to see the outpouring of love and caring that others provide.

We never know what might come our way tomorrow. We may be a friend to one in need or we may need a friend. Thank you Lord for the kindness of others and for your love that we see in those who lend a hand.

Blessing to all,
