The Truth, the Whole Truth, and Nothing but the Truth

This morning on our way to work we heard an advertisement for a local "community" church. The pastor stated, "when you leave our service we want you to feel good." I looked at my husband and said, "They must not be preaching sin at that church."

I know I touched on a similar topic a few weeks ago, but it just amazes me at the number of so called Christian Churches who preach the Bible the way they want to or should I say "don't preach the Bible."

Another popular thing being preached from many pulpits is the possibility of there being more than one way to enter heaven. Give me a break! You either believe the Bible or you don't. The Bible is not the J C Penny Catalog. You don't just look in it and pick out what you want in your favorite color and your own size.

As my Pastor so passionately preached Sunday, there is only one way to enter heaven and that is by the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ. It is so sad and scary to think of the great number of people who think they are ok and are going to heaven.

Back to feeling good after church. When you are a child of God you can't help but feel good after worshipping with fellow believers. But sometimes God reveals sin in our lives and that never feels good until you confess that sin and receive forgiveness.

I am so thankful for a Pastor who preaches the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!

Thank you Bro. Paul!!

Jesus answered, " I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

  3. You go Leigh Leigh! I love to sit under preaching that convicts me of the sin in my life so that I can pray for forgiveness.

You did a wonderful post for Taylor too! He was a sweet young man. And he did have such a sweet smile!

And it does not seem possible for Sarah to be 14! I think the first time she got to go to the grocery store was when you took her. LOL!

You are a blessing to me...even through the miles. Thank you!
